About Kainos

Our Mission

We are committed to breaking the cycle of commercial sexual exploitation while helping and empowering Survivors.

Our Vision

Bringing freedom to the sexually exploited and uprooting the larger system of injustice and exploitation that makes this possible.

How We Began

International Churches Ministry, Inc (ICM) was begun in February 2008 with a DBA Growthpoints.com. "GrowthPoints" was founded as a ministry to International Churches Worldwide and the Packers traveled globally to equip and empower churches and leaders to grow in Christ. In their ministry, David and Lana served as missionaries to the Philippines (9 years), senior pastor and wife of International Baptist Church of Singapore (12 years) and International Baptist Church of Stuttgart, Germany (12 years).

The concern for the sexually exploited came through God burdening Lana’s heart during a moving trip to lead a Christian women’s conference in 2013 in a Middle East nation. After a season of prayer and learning more about the tragedy of sexual trafficking, several individuals came together to form the non-profit organization Kainos-Germany, in June 2014. We chose the motto "free to be new,” from 2 Corinthians 5:17, "If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away … the new has come."

Kainos-Germany and ICM, from the beginning, have been partners in ministry.

In 2022, their work in Germany was handed over to others — Coreen Lategan became the director of Kainos-Germany — and the Packers shifted their ministries to the USA, and began serving full-time with ICM. David would focus mainly on helping international churches and training leaders, and Lana focusing mainly on the needs of the sexually exploited.

In addition to supporting the work of Kainos-Germany, the possibilities of beginning new work are being explored in the USA and in the Philippines.
